GY GYROS
For better-than-piezo gyro performance!
Unlike standard piezo gyros with only a few sensor
nodes, GY Gyros feature a cluster of 18 sensor nodes.
It’s a big difference in sensor
numbers that accounts for
GY’s amazing improvements
in sensitivity and accuracy.
While leaders in other
industries were starting to explore the
potential of Silicon Micro Machining
(SMM), Futaba had already created the
first practical application: GY Series Gyros
for radio control. SMM allows mechanical
and electronic components to be mounted
onto a machined, high-density chip that’s
smaller than a pencil point. The result is a
resonator that is shock- and vibration-
resistant, far more sensitive and accurate
than standard piezo gyros and directly
responsible for GY gyros’ dramatically
superior and exceptionally reliable
performance.
Avoids the temperature sensitivity of
piezo crystals — GY Gyros function well
within a wide 14°F to 122°F range!
• Reduces start-up time to a virtually
instantaneous 3 seconds
• Requires just 80mA of operating current
Only SMM technology could create GY
Gyros’ incredibly compact, lightweight
Active Angular Velocity Control System
• Sends control signals to the gyro servo continuously, even
when the tail is not moving
Trims the rudder against side winds automatically, virtually
eliminating the need for rudder trim changes during flight
• Provides the most positive control for hovering and flying
in crosswinds
• Competition gyro ideal
for F3C pattern fliers
• Ultra high-speed
330Hz operation
• Gain can be adjusted
from transmitter
• LCD screen allows
precise setting
